Author Guidelines

-Manuscripts submitted for publication must be unpublished. Articles must be written either in Spanish or Portuguese. Authors are responsible for any translation of manuscripts into these languages.

-Tables, graphs and photographs must be sent separately, properly numbered and with their corresponding titles. Tables and graphs must include the units in which values are expressed and the corresponding sources. Photos should be sent in jpg format and in high resolution, in a separate file, with the applicable reproduction permissions. Information about the sources of the photographs, together with brief captions about the contents must be sent in a separate Word file.

-Any clarification regarding the manuscript (previous presentations of research findings, collaborators, acknowledgements, etc.) must be indicated with an asterisk in the title. Institutional affiliation, author’s bio and contact information will be indicated with double asterisk after the author(s) name(s).

-Authors are not charged for copyediting and publication of manuscripts.

-The text must follow the style guidelines described in the Publication Manual (7th edition) of the American Psychological Association (APA).

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • Manuscripts submitted to Clepsidra. Interdisciplinary Journal of Memory Studies must be original research articles. They should neither be published previously nor be under consideration for publication in another journal.
  • Articles should be no longer than 8,000 words and no shorter than 6,000 words. Reviews should be no longer than 1,200 words, including footnotes and references.
  • Articles must include title, abstract and six (6) keywords (in lower-case letters) in Spanish and English, name and affiliation of author(s) (with full name of the institutions), and full references.
  • Manuscripts should be submitted in Word or Open Office format, featuring A4 page size, 2.5 cm margins, 1.5 lines and 12-pt Times New Roman.
  • The text must comply with the stylistic and bibliographical requirements set out in the Author Guidelines in the About the Journal section.

Dossier Temático

Se trata de un espacio donde se privilegiará la discusión de temas, casos y problemas teórico-metodológicos que representan un aporte al campo de estudio debido a su centralidad, su originalidad y/o porque dialogan,  discuten, interpreten o pongan en tensión aspectos centrales de los Estudios sobre Memoria Social. Con la finalidad de alentar una mirada comparativa, se propiciará el diálogo y la discusión entre investigadores/as provenientes de diversas disciplinas de las Ciencias Sociales y Humanas así como se privilegiará la publicación de trabajos sobre distintos países de América Latina.
