What we thought of democratic institutions in 1983 and how much we were wrong

El trabajo analiza cómo cambiaron las percepciones y realidades de la política, la economía y la sociedad en Argentina desde la transición. El autor menciona siete puntos clave: (1) percepción del presidencialismo como problema para la estabilidad democrática, (2) asimetría de la "doble transición" política y económica, (3) persistencia de los partidos políticos, (4) disminución del poder de los gobernadores provinciales y centralización de las decisiones en Buenos Aires, (5) modificaciones de las carreras políticas, (6) transformación de la base social del peronismo, y (7) reducción de la violencia política y emergencia de la incompetencia como problema para la gestión gubernamental.
