Abstract

In the context of Coronavirus pandemic, an increasing number of trials against humanity in Argentina are being
held and broadcast online. The present paper focuses on the case of the clandestine detention centre El Campito,
which operated in the military garrison of Campo de Mayo (Province of Buenos Aires), and on the digitalisation
of its erased image. It examines testimonies and forensic reconstructions of the site, its circulation in legal na
rratives, and the possibilities of access to memorial spaces opened up by the ‘digital turn’. from the sketch drawn
by survivor Juan Carlos Scarpati to the film Camuflaje, which includes the entrance to the interactive memorial
El Campito, through the testimonial statements of experts, I propose an itinerary of these images that highlights
the efforts of the sciences and forensic aesthetics to make known the material dimension of extermination.
