Author Guidelines

The articles published in Economic Development-Journal of Social Sciences are in English and Spanish. Any translations of articles into these languages is the responsibility of the author.

Tables and figures must be submitted in separate files from the main text. They should be properly numbered and titled with clear indication of the units used and the corresponding sources. Authors are encouraged to avoid unnecessary complexity in their design.

Any clarification regarding the manuscript (such as prior presentation, collaborators, acknowledgments, etc.) should be indicated with a single asterisk in the title and reference in a footnote. Likewise, institutional affiliation should be included in a footnote using a double asterisk referenced form the author’s name, along with the author’s email address.

Economic Development. Journal of Social Sciences does not charge authors any fees for editorial or publication tasks (commonly referred to as APCs- Article Processing Charges).

Citations and References

Economic Development. Journal of Social Sciences follows APA style guidelines for the formatting of in-text citations and references.

For in-text citations, the author-date system should be used, indicating the author, year, and specific page number of the cited material.

Example

“an unscheduled stop in Brazil to address the issue and decided that the regulation would not apply to Mercosur countries” (Bermúdez, 1999, p. 94).

If citing multiple authors, they should be included within the same set of parentheses.

Example

“(...) confirms that, in the regions for which we have information, the situation deteriorated significantly between June and August 2002” (Hintze et al., 2003, pp. 61–69; Lacoste, 2003, p. 9).

If a quotation exceeds four lines, it should be presented in a separate paragraph, indented 1.5 cm, in 11-point font size, and without quotation marks. Furthermore, if the quoted text does not coincide with the beginning of a sentence, this should be indicated using parentheses and ellipsis “(...)”; likewise, if portions of the quoted text are omitted.

All works cited must be listed in a bibliography at the end of the article, organized alphabetically, following the guidelines outlined below.
